Job Title: Gardener
Salary: £18,000 per annum
At Changes UK we recognise that addiction is often a result of difficult life experiences, our team have been helping people find recovery for over a decade. As a social enterprise the main purpose of Changes Gardening is to generate subsidiary income which contributes to the overall aim of Changes UK to provide rehabilitative services for those in our community struggling with addiction.
We are looking for an experienced gardener with a keen eye for detail. If your passionate about gardening and are looking for a rewarding role please apply! As part of a team, you will be responsible for maintaining are existing gardening contracts, quoting for new business and maintaining garden machinery. The ideal candidate would be friendly, able to work alongside our volunteers, professional, should be physically to be able to manage small and heavy machinery and possess knowledge of effective gardening techniques. It is imperative that you retain a clean driving license.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain garden contracts and ad hoc work to ensure that they exceed our customers’ requirements and expectations.
Supervise volunteers and inspire them to learn and develop.
Plant and nurture trees, flowers, and various plants
Work with hand tools, basic light machinery such as plant vehicles and maintain them.
Liaise with customers and manage diary.
Advise management of the costs of plants and garden necessities with detailed written quotations and reports.
Ensure a safe environment for customers and clients by adhering to safety and health regulations.
To act in accordance with all policies and values
Hours and Annual Leave:
A flexible 40 Hours a week is worked which may include evenings and weekends
24 Days holiday per year plus statutory bank holidays
A full and clean driving license
To be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to handle range of horticultural machinery.
Knowledge of plants and gardening techniques
Friendly personality with excellent interpersonal skills
Understanding of Health and Safety
