Location: Changes UK, Recovery Central, 9 Allcock Street, Birmingham and other Changes UK properties as required
Salary: £22,000-25,000/annum (pro-rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Accountable to: CEO, Changes UK
Deadline: 15th February 9th at 1pm 2018

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF POST

We are looking for an exceptional person to manage and further develop our volunteering function into a national exemplar of ‘changing pain into purpose’….

Most of our services are peer led, with our volunteers playing a vital role in providing living proof that recovery is not only possible, but sustainable and enjoyable.  Our current team of 30+ volunteers needs to expand to 50+ in line with our business plan.

This position needs to reflect our sustained success and growth in the field of supporting people to achieve and maintain abstinent recovery from substance misuse.  The Volunteer Manager will be tasked with recruiting, deploying and supporting an expanded volunteer team and as a full member of the management team, contributing to the strategic development of the organisation.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES

Key activities and responsibilities will include:

  • The recruitment, training, deployment and on-going development and motivation of all Changes volunteers, increasing the number of active volunteers to 50+ in line with the business plan
  • Ensuring all volunteers are recruited, deployed and supervised in line with Changes DBS and safeguarding policies and procedures
    Managing volunteer events
  • Developing and managing relationships with corporate partners, stakeholders and attending networking events.
  • Responsible for events across the whole organisation, ranging from social events for service users to large scale fundraising events. This includes budgeting, promotion and management, as well as recruitment, training and supervising staff and volunteers.
  • Ensuring reporting is up to date and targets are being achieved in line with funding requirements
  • Developing a team of volunteers to oversee and manage the conference facilities at Changes’ Recovery Central. This customer facing role includes taking bookings, arranging catering, and managing volunteers. Budget control and monitoring, along with chairing meetings.
